time.  Moved on to upstate NY and a foliage trip into Vermont,   which was awesome.  Took in Niagara Falls for a few days (our first visit) and headed home with a brief stop in Toledo, OH, Joyce's hometown
We also took a quick trip to St. Louis in August for some planning for the 2008 reunion.  Met with Ed Morgan               who is assisting us with this upcoming event.  I am still in negotiation on some items.  Know that in the last OGP I said I would have some concrete information.  Sooooo…
A special flyer will be issued after the first of the year with all the final information.

"HEALTH AND HAPPINESS ALWAYS"

"The most wasted day of all is that in which one has not laughed"

Gerald (Gus) Freeburg

Time has slipped by and I am behind the power curve.  Wish they offered a crash course in Time Management for Retirees.   Will now attempt to bring every one up to date since our last OGP.
On our trek to Washington D.C. for the dedication we decided to turn the trip into an extended vacation.  First stop was St. Paul, MN to visit with our daughter and grandkids for a few days. Next we traveled to Wilmington, OH to see our daughter and son-in-law.  There we took in the thrills of the "Flea Market" and discount mall.
We drove to D.C. for the long planned plaque dedication.   Dan Flynn served as Master of Ceremonies.  He opened the dedication with the introduction of Staff Members from the U.S. Navy Memorial who gave a short history about the Memorial Wall, followed with the film "Victory at Sea".  Not what you used to watch when you were younger on your black and white TV.  This was a film of our 21st century fleet and sailors.  It was quite interesting, not only to the crusty ole sea going sailors but also to those family members who were not familiar with the workings of the Navy.
Tom McMahon gave the invocation, followed by a presentation from your Prez on how the "Association" came about and where we are today.  Kent Fairchild read the names of shipmates and spouses who have passed since the Minneapolis reunion, ending with the ringing of the bell as the last name was read.  The plaque was displayed on the screen behind us and the playing of "Taps" concluded the dedication. My sincere thanks to those shipmates and family members who attended.  A special thanks to John
Wonderling and his family who traveled to the dedication from Zanesville, Ohio.
From D.C. we made our way to New York City for a few days, did the tourist tours, and had a great>>>>>>
