Joyce and I visited San Antonio, our 2010 reunion destination to check out the hotels, etc. on or near the Riverwalk. Of course we couldn't pass up tasting some of the cuisine at local eateries. The Riverwalk has all types of food to satisfy ones palette. One of our favorites was the guacamole made fresh, table side, from Budro's. Mexican food can be found at its finest.
Finally received a contract from the Armed Forces Reunion office, for the Holiday Inn Riverwalk. The dates are 29 Sep. through 03 Oct. 2010. The weather should be great for us 'old folk' that time of year.
Your Vice President, Kent Fairchild, is once again heading up the golf tournament. Understand that there are some really nice courses (approx. 15) available to choose from.
I understand there was some discussion about the late date (mid October) for the 2008 reunion in St. Louis. If this is the case for the 2010 reunion please do not hesitate to call or Email your Prez, if you want the straight scoop on WHY!!!!!
This is probably a good time to notify association members I will not be running for the office of president. Please give some thought to whom you would like to consider nominating to take over the helm of the association. Your nominee of choice will be considered at the business meeting 02 Oct 2010.
It is not too soon to be thinking about a good location for the 2012 reunion. Food for thought… "It's the friends we meet along life's path…who helps us appreciate the journey" "Health and Happiness Always" From Joyce and I "Fair Winds and Following Seas" Gerald "Gus" Freeburg

These past few months have been hectic to say the least. I want to apologize to the association for being negligent, again, in getting this OGP on the street. I said this would not happen again but unfortunately, we have little news to share. |
